DH, my friends and I were intially interested to check out H&H because we heard that women are supposed to take off their bras and leave them hanging from the ceiling. My friends and I went to great pains to find a bra nice enough to let be seen in public but not so nice that we weren’t willing to part with it. That was quite a night!
Biff, the last time I walked down Canal near Broadway, I was on my cellphone. Some guy selling ‘Bolex’ watches starts talking to me and shoving watches in my face. I wigged out and started screaming at him, “CAN’T YOU SEE I’M ON THE PHONE”, called him my favorite name and then continued on with my conversation. He and a bunch of tourists stood there stunned. After that incident I determined that it’s best I don’t go back 🙂
I haven’t had Chinese Food in ages as I am always disappointed and think it’s never authentic.
Where is a great place for authentic Chinese food? I’m not picky about decor.
Damn Snappy -Yeah thats pretty lame, but since my first visit there I have learned that Hogs and Heifers is essentially a white trash theme bar for tourists. They have the silly rules “no ties” and if you order water you get sprayed with the bar gun. It’s all a big show, and not really the best place to be if you’re out with the ladies and looking to get sh*tfaced!
Snappy, I guess you wouldn’t like to be there during Chinese New Year! It’s super duper busy then…the Champettes love it though so I put up with the crowds.
I’m sure you can get the goods from Brooklyn’s Chinatown too. I’m not at all familiar with the grocery options there though.
Biff, I absolutely hate shopping in Chinatown. I detest the Canal street area in general. I cant stand being around that many people. I only make exceptions for my art supplies at Pearl Paint. Any chance the same ingredients and good prices can be found in Brooklyn’s Chinatown?

And I just saw sixyears in the camping thread. I guess our questions drove him and Jessi out of here.

Montrose was in a couple other threads today. What made one comment today in another thread as well. But that is basically MIA for him.
