Brooklyn Based ran a great fall openings report about restaurants coming to the borough. Clinton Hill‘s The Wallace is expected to open tomorrow, Saul Bolton may finally open his Italian joint on Atlantic Avenue in November, and Brooklyn Flea fave Runner and Stone will open its Gowanus bakery in late September or early October. Check out the article for many more openings.
Williamsburg/Bushwick
The Dos Toros taco chain (based in Manhattan) will open up a Brooklyn location close to the Bedford L stop. A Bushwick gym seeks a liquor license to open up as an event space, too. And a Mediterranean restaurant called Zizi Limona (opened by the folks who run the Hummus Place in Manhattan) hosts its grand opening party tomorrow at 129 Havemeyer.
Park Slope
Food trucks will now be permanently located under the Grand Army Plaza arch every Saturday until Nov. 24. Four trucks have signed on, and hopefully two more are to come. Here’s Park Slope writes that Impeccable Attire, a fancy t-shirt shop, opened on 5th Avenue, a toy store is getting ready to open up on 7th, and Kahawa Cafe had a quiet opening on the corner of 5th Avenue and 15th Street.
Elsewhere
Brooklyn Heights‘ Iris Cafe is now open for dinner (hooray!) and they also opened a nearby location that sells beer and groceries, as well as delivers food. Product designer Dabney Lee will open a retail location at 45 Washington Street in Dumbo by Sept. 28. Twig Terrarium moved to its new Gowanus location at 287 3rd Avenue. And in Borough Park, popular bowling spot Maple Lanes will likely close to make way for a housing development.
