Fort Greene
According to Zagat, Williamsburg’s Walter Foods has officially expanded to Fort Greene. The joint, at 166 Dekalb Avenue, is called Walter’s. As for the food: “There’s no porterhouse pork chop on offer; instead, you’ll find a lobster salad entree with grapefruit, ricotta salata, mint and avocado in a citrus vinaigrette, some new fish dishes and a roasted half chicken.” There are a few Walter Food staples on the menu too.

Park Slope
Is a McDonald’s coming to 7th and Union Avenues?? UPDATE: No! It’s a Charles Schwab office. Here’s Park Slope also reports that Kiku Sushi is moving into the Babouche space, Oko Frozen Yogurt and Tea is closed, Sai Thai Kitchen is open on 5th, and the retail space at new condo building 9 St. Johns rented. Finally FIPS notes that Sweetwolfs has opened on 6th Avenue.

Williamsburg/Greenpoint
Chef and restaurateur John Fraser is eying Greenpoint for his latest, permanent venture. An art gallery and ping pong parlor was approved for a liquor license by the CB1 Public Safety Committee, says New York Shitty. The bar Basik opened at 323 Graham Avenue. Retro Fitness is coming soon to 203 Berry Street and a bar is prepping at 138 Havemeyer, according to Here’s Williamsburg.

Elsewhere
Old-school ice cream parlor Hinsch’s reopens, to the delight of Bay Ridge locals. Di Fara Pizza reopens in Midwood after a weeklong shutter by the DOH. A medical office opens on Beverly Road in Ditmas Park. A salad bar is taking shape on Franklin just south of Park in Crown Heights. And Brooklyn Buschenschank opens at 320 Court Street, serving up German and Italian brews and pizza to the Carroll Gardens masses.
