Park Slope bar Jackie’s 5th Amendment will be closing next month, with a tentative date of September 15th. The dive is a neighborhood favorite and has been there for decades. The owner has decided to move on, and the space will be taken over by the pharmacy next door. Photo by fakebook. Grand Central Oyster Bar gets signage at the old Fornino space on 5th Avenue and they plan to open up in the late fall of this year. And South Brooklyn Pizza, on the corner of 1st Street and 7th Avenue, was shuttered by the City Marshall.
Ditmas Park
Chabba Family Grill & Cuisine is moving into the old Bukhara space, at 786 Coney Island Avenue. Bukhara was closed not long ago by the City Marshall. This new restaurant should open any day now. Tribeca Pediatrics signed a lease at 722 Coney Island Avenue, between Avenue C and Cortelyou Road. Ditmas Park Corner expects it will open early next year.
Elsewhere
A fresh, sustainable fish store is opening at the old Chinese restaurant on Vanderbilt Avenue, next to Joyce Bake Shop. It will be run by the folks behind the Mermaid’s Garden CSA — awesome news for Prospect Heights. Wyckoff Heights has a great roundup of new businesses coming to Bushwick, including a cafe and wine bar at 1702 Stanhope Street and a bar at the former brewery at 1563 Decatur Street. DNAinfo checks out Atrium Dumbo, the neighborhood’s newest high end restaurant operated by a trio of DB Bistro Moderne alums. And Fort Greene‘s Brooklyn Sandwich Society is reinventing itself as Martha. The owners are expanding the menu to offer more seasonal dishes.
