Tattoo artist Chris Torres, of reality show NY Ink fame, opened his own tattoo shop last week at 229 Flatbush Avenue between Bergen and Dean streets in Prospect Heights. The shop, Red Legged Devils Studio, is a block from the Barclays Center and next to the vacant Bergen Tile Building.

The 37-year-old Midwood native will head a group of eight artists and expects a steady flow of foot traffic from the Barclays Center and the shopping areas on Atlantic Avenue. He told Brooklyn Paper that the studio, named after Brooklyn’s volunteer milita regiment during the Civil War, will be the largest tattoo parlor in Brooklyn.

  1. “The 37-year-old Midwood native expects a steady flow of foot traffic from the Barclays Center” … because when folks go to a concert, they probably want to pop in for a quick tattoo first.
