Apparently no Chipotle for the old Miracle Grill spot! We passed along a rumor a little while ago about the possibility of the burrito chain moving to 222 7th Avenue in Park Slope. Brooklyn Paper did a little digging and reports that there are no burritos in storefront’s future, according to Chipotle corporate. You can look forward to a closed storefront for a long time if the landlord holds out for the rent being asked, which I heard was $12,000/month. That’s a lot of tacos!
The problem with a good BBQ place is the smoke…Park Slopers who live next door would never allow that.
They should just admit defeat and bring back Minsky’s.
That’s because the Taco Bell tacos are mostly indigestible plastic.
According to today’s Washington Post, a Chipotle chicken burrito is equivalent (calorie-wise) to NINE chicken soft tacos from Taco Bell.
As I predicted, too small for their business model.
Since I get a vote, I vote for Pret a Manger.
“Sit down non Bahn Mi Vietnamese restaurant”
Funny, that’s what was there 4 or 5 restaurants ago (“Nam”). Maybe it was ahead of its time.
My vote would be a non-cookie-cutter Indian place or an outpost of Waterfront Ale House. But at this point I’m skeptical that anyone can stay open in that location.
That is for the former Playa space on 5th Avenue and President Street, Grand Pa.
Whatever is going in there, they’ve been working on the space in recent days/weeks…
