A new kids store opened a couple of weeks ago at 152 Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill. In addition to toys and books, the new spot, called Mini Max Toys and Cuts, also offers hair cuts, performances, arts and crafts, as BHB points out. It was started by four local mothers in the space formerly occupied by Pomegranate Looms and Cook’s Companion. Anyone check it out yet? GMAP
I took my son in for a haircut a couple weeks ago. It was a great experience – very nice people and a great set-up. Not chaotic like Lulu’s. They give you 10% off any purchases w/ a cut…got my son a ball and a couple puzzles and we all left happy.
Yeah it’s:
$10 for hair cut
$8 for keeping kid calm and not cutting his ear off while he flails about
$8 for doing all this with a smile while mom and dad are less than 5 feet away hovering about
A bargain if ever there were one.
From the book “What to Expect: The Toddler Years”:
“If you think about it, being afraid of the barber is perfectly understandable. A stranger, aiming right for your child’s head with a pair of scissors (an implement you’ve probably warned is dangerous): what’s not to fear?”
Rob, $26 is appropriate for a child’s haircut. As bookchic pointed out, children squirm, scream and cry while getting their hair cut. That’s something you have to pay for and $26 is a small price to pay to have someone patient/skilled enough to deal with that.
I went looking for a good chemistry set a while back, couldn’t find one. Chemistry rules.

. $26 might seem high for a toddler’s haircut
wow.
just WOW. some people really DO have too much money to burn
*rob*
haircuts?
We took our two-year-old there last week for a haircut and the staff was great–very patient and friendly. $26 might seem high for a toddler’s haircut but when you consider the squirming, crying and sometimes screaming that goes along with said cut, they earn every penny.
I had a nice wood burning set as a kid. I made a lovely name plate for my bedroom door and an even more attractive blister on my pointer finer.
Good times.
