This building (site) will be on the GreenHomeNYC tour on October 2nd in conjunction with The NEW New York Green Block Party. The party is on Third Street between Bond + Hoyt.

It would be perfect if there were windows going across the front of the third level as well. I’ve seen the architects other projects and I agree that this is a poor rendering. Parson’s School of Design is working on a similar project in DC as part of the 2011 Solar Decathlon
yes, this made of shipping containers. The architect has been dabbling in modular & sustainable design for quite a while now. It’s too bad that this rendering is poorly done, as most of his built modular stuff looks rather elegant.
I know I may get flamed for this, but I actually like it. Non-trad in a non-trad area of Brooklyn. Will be an interesting experiment.
“zero energy” meaning… not counting the 4 cars in the garage to accomodate the transportation needs (red hook!) of anyone willing and able to afford the first mcmansion in the hook.
