Residents of western Crown Heights were sad to see Nimba shutter last spring at 619 St. Johns Place just off Franklin Avenue, but it looks like a new business, Forte Cafe, will move into the space. We spotted this sign in the window over the weekend, but we haven’t been able to find out anything else about it. It just says “Coming soon, Forte Cafe.”
The storefront went up for rent in June, about two months after plumbing issues and a dispute with the landlord forced Nimba to close, according to Brooklynian. If you know anything about the cafe, hit up the tipline! Click through for a closeup shot of the sign. GMAP
Hopefully it’ll be good! I really liked Nimba, but luckily this area has a pretty nice amount of other local coffee shops to choose from.
Good luck to Forte!
