New Bar Coming to Third Avenue
The sign says it all: Over 200 of the world’s finest beers (Brooklyn Lager included?) will soon be available for sipping at 530 Third Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets. The sign says Draft Barn, also the name of a beer hall on Avenue X. Is that their South Slope cousin? Seems a strange spot…

Seems a strange spot for a bar, but if Whole Foods ever shows up, perhaps nearby businesses on Third Ave will get a boost? Upstairs is something called the Brooklyn Acupuncture Project, where a date with the needles ranges between $15 and $45. Maybe they’ll have specials on a brew with some Eastern medicine?
“Bars like this though, that basically are places to get wasted… I dunno.”
I think maybe you do know Polemicist.
It’s a beer hall!!!!!!
can’t recall the space…is it big enough to be a real beer hall?
Glad to see someone taking a chance and opening something besides a gas station, or combo fast food mart at this location. If they’re related to the place in Gravesend, based on what I’ve read, they’ll have a pretty nice place, decent food, and they’ll serve a good selection of beer in the right glasses-

Doesn’t sound bad…
There’s a gigantic new apartment building going up on the 4th ave. side of the block, and Bar Tano at 9th and 3rd. I think this place should do well. I’d go……
Sketch location. That is a prime area to get mugged after a night of drinking. Totally desolate at night.
I think that given the zoning, Gowanus is fine for a large music venue where crowds are more likely to be coming and going at a similar time. Bars like this though, that basically are places to get wasted… I dunno.
LOL Flatbushwacker. Or as DOW 8000 would say ROTFLMMFAO
So we’re calling 3rd Avenue between 12th and 13th South Slope and not Gowanus now?
I really don’t care, but I was under the impression that Park Slope’s western boundary was 4th Avenue.
That’s a lot closer to Lowe’s and Pathmark than to the Whole Foods site. This will be a nice spot to go to after cruising for MILFs in the frozen foods section.
IF Whole Foods ever shows up – that is 10 blocks away/ a half mile from here. Not much of a relationship.
