So there was a voodoo ceremony to bring good luck to the woman, so the building caught fire and now no one has a home because some couple were having sex with candles all around the bed, starting the blaze, then opening a window, and opening the door to the apartment, thus letting the fire spread thru the hallway.
It just amazed me that some people are completely stupid, have absolutely no common sense at all. I think people living in any sort of apartment needs to go to school for fire safety, because they are not only endangering their lives but the other tenants as well.
So now because of their carelessness, the rest of the tenants in the building do not have a home. This infuriates me, I believe the apartment the fires started in should be responsible for this tradgey….
“But residents believe that the bar will target a hoops and hip-hop crowd that will be raucous before and after games.
“It is completely in conflict with an internationally famous, family oriented area,†said Steve Ettlinger, a non-fiction writer who lives nearby. “And everyone who has approached the owner has been rudely rebuffed.â€

Oh, I get it. A sports bar targeting a hip-hop (i.e., black and hispanic) crowd is a problem, but all of the other bars and lounges all over Park Slope are OK, huh?
Grandpa is right. Could it be that some Park Slope residents aren’t quite as “liberal” as they’d like to believe?
so funny granpa.
regarding illegal apartments: DOB should offer a reward for turning in landlords. That’ll expose the cheaters.
I can’t wait for the sports bar/club debates to heat up. Should be interesting seeing all the not racists people come out.
Re: the sports bar rally, sad to see the racist motivations in Park Slope of all places.
If the bar catered to white lesbians, there would be no complaints from the tofu and free range chicken crowd.
“Fort Greene Food Co-Op Moves Ahead”
Great news for Brownstoner. Should be worth a few 100+ post threads.
A story about the attractiveness of renting over buying by a Manhattan rental agent. Surprise!!!!!
