I went to the demo at Beth Elohim. Six of “them” & several hundred of us. Rabbi led us in chants & cheers & blew the shofar. He made a very good speech. A few people did the hora. The hate group sang truly ugly lyrics to Jewish tunes & wore despicable slogans on their clothes. Hard to tell what they could possibly have gotten out of the experience but we enjoyed a general feeling of friendliness.
I went to the DUMBO arts festival thingy… of all the things going on, some of which was really amazing, fun, interesting, thought provoking, etc. This paint and ice cube “interactive” thing pictured was really lame if you ask me. Though, other folks seemed to like it.
DIBS—did you read the Bed Stuy real estate article in the Saturday Times? It was all about how Bed Stuy is still coming up despite the down turn.
Congrats to the Martinez’s on the Vendy Award. Never knew you could still get seltzer delivery like that still in Brooklyn.
