> One can only imagine where the remaining $700 BILLION is going.
Jewel-encrusted fire hydrants in Beverly Hills?
Snark;
Yes,the FEDERAL government allocating $650K for streetlights in BH is indicative of a poorly-run, politically-driven program. One can only imagine where the remaining $700 BILLION is going.

$650k has your knickers in a knot?
“The upscale neighborhood is getting 65 new streetlamps this fall at $10,000 a pop – paid for with federal stimulus money.”
Is there any better demonstration of what a sham the stimulus bill is? In the Great Depression, FDR marshalled the nation’s resources to build great projects like the Hoover Dam, the Triborough Bridge and the TVA dams. These projects were highly visible, provided meaningful jobs for several years and were significant improvements to the nation’s infrastructure.
Here we are, using federal funds to install “cute” streetlamps to further disneyfy Brooklyn Heights. What a joke.
As someone else pointed out when this story first aired over a week ago, Stuyvesant Heights already has these nice reproduction streetlights . Na, na, na.na.na na.
650K to replace perfectly functioning streetlights! WTF!!!
Who thought of this? Someone’s lightbulb is loose.
650k. 650m would be a big story indeed
