We’re off for the holiday today but this one couldn’t wait: Over the weekend a reader sent in a photo of the signage that just went up at the old Miracle Grill space at 504 3rd Street in Park Slope. As you may recall, there was some speculation last year that Chipotle would step into the breach when the upscale Mexican spot closed but that rumor was eventually debunked. A burger chain called Cheeburger Cheeburger appears to be the lucky winner. Hot or not?

I know, Benson, and that’s a consideration. But if they do allow that or encourage it, it would be the best thing for him to be sure he gets the right pooch. Plus the shelters in question are in Pittsburgh, PA. May be different, may be the same.

I don’t know about other shelters, but North Shore (which is considered to be one of the best around) does not look kindly on the practice of “trying out” an animal. They do allow people to bring back the animal, if it doesn’t work out. However, they are reluctant to provide you with another animal. During the time we were there, I saw three people’s application for a pet rejected on this basis.
I guess their thinking is that you should know what you want in an animal, and not put them through the trauma of thinking they have a home, only to be rejected.

Regarding hair color, I’ve thought about going totally grey, in a nice silver that doesn’t make me look old. I already have “Bride of Frankenstein” white streaks at the temples, and plenty of grey elsewhere, but it’s the dull, makes you look old kind of grey.
It really is amazing how covering it up, or going lighter, using products that really work well, and colors that aren’t beyond the realm of probability, can make you look years younger. I’ve been greying since around 45.
