We’re off for the holiday today but this one couldn’t wait: Over the weekend a reader sent in a photo of the signage that just went up at the old Miracle Grill space at 504 3rd Street in Park Slope. As you may recall, there was some speculation last year that Chipotle would step into the breach when the upscale Mexican spot closed but that rumor was eventually debunked. A burger chain called Cheeburger Cheeburger appears to be the lucky winner. Hot or not?

DCB, the reason this is so upsetting is because it is very unusual in Clinton Hill/Ft. Greene. It is a pretty peaceful, mellow neighborhood.
Ever since the beginning of the year, I have been reducing my exposure to the stock market. (And have already eliminated fixed income). That leaves me in cash.
I am bullish on the economy and the market in the medium term, but after the tremendous move we have already had, a correction grows more and more likely.

Back atcha, Snaps.
I just did a little research on Bishop Loughlin. It is run by the Christian Brothers. Its student body is 88 percent black, 12 percent Latino according to greatschools, where there are many favorable reviews and only a tiny number of unfavorable ones, nothing about safety at all. According to a NYC private school website, the school has a 93 percent college acceptance rate. Costs almost $8k/year. It doesn’t sound like a ghetto school to me, not at all.
