A former Dressler chef last week opened a new restaurant, Meadowsweet, in the old Dressler space at 149 Broadway in Williamsburg. Except for Dressler’s memorable Victorian-style floor tile, which was retained, the exterior and interior have been reconfigured in a modern style with light colors.
The menu is new American and includes some reconfigured standbys Dressler and Dumont regulars will recognize as well as new dishes, including crispy baby artichokes with arugula, scallop with preserved lemon, and cavatelli with braised rabbit and fava beans.
The botanical wallpaper features the meadowsweet herb and was a design collaboration with Flavor Paper. Click through to the jump see a photo of the interior. GMAP

I agree. Boring name and it also looks a little boring. I thought the old design was beautiful/interesting.
