In the mid 80’s I witnessed a water tank fail on Jay St. near Water St. They had just installed tanks in a building which had been semi abandoned, and as I walked from the F train I saw sparkles on the side of the building and at first wondered what they had coated the wall with. Then it was like a waterfall, and there was no question.
It was very cool ; )
That’s why God invented corrugated metal sheets. They won’t install themselves, though.
