Last September, La Taqueria, the once-popular Mexican joint at 72 7th Avenue in Park Slope, shut down the bar and restaurant portions of its business, leaving just the take-out side up and running. And now even the take-out business has closed, according to Park Slope Patch on Monday and Here’s Park Slope today. It’s just the way it is, owner Martin Medina told Patch. It’s the economy, it’s rent, it’s tough times. GMAP

  1. I’m glad I don’t live in Park Slope anymore. All my favorite places are gone but crap like Barrio are still doing well. The real problem is the clientele, I think. It’s become Manhattan in the worst possible way. Can’t wait for the Park Slope Gentrification Machine to reach further south about 40 blocks in 5 years. Until then, I will be sure and enjoy the only good Mexican food in NYC.

  2. I am sad about this place closing too, and hope that another boring chain doesn’t take it’s place.

I am also thinking that a burrito joint like this would do very well in Bedford Stuyvesant. There is nothing like it there, and I think the neighborhood is more than ready. Just putting it out there…
