Khemistry Bar is now open at 216 Malcolm X Boulevard in Bed Stuy and serving a small “gastropub” dinner menu as well as craft cocktails. Seasonally changing items and specials include an orange zest grilled pork chop, warm spinach and cannellini bean salad, and lemon thyme chicken. The owners have a lot of local restaurant experience, including at Peaches, as we mentioned in an earlier story, and the menu includes ingredients that are local and organic.

DNAinfo was the first to report Khemistry had opened on New Year’s Eve. The decor plays on the “chemistry lab” theme, with classroom chairs, a former library card catalog serving as a hostess station, and a concrete bar with lab stools, according to the story.

  1. My wife and I went for dinner on Tuesday. Very well done and the food was amazing. My wife kept repeating (in a good way) “I feel like we are eating at a place with the quality of the City or Smith Street, but in Bed Stuy with a Bed Stuy feel.” We are very proud of this new addition and plan to eat there often.
