The très interesting news comes courtesy of a Boerum Hill broker not involved in the deal. Pardon Me for Asking recently noticed that permits were up in the windows of the Smith Street space, which has been vacant for a few years now. GMAP
Dave, they have good steak tartare at Blue Ribbon on 5th Avenue. They also have $1.50 oysters till 6:30pm.
They also have excellent tartare at Prime Meats on Court Street (one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Brooklyn).
I am DELIGHTED as i live in South BH so this is close…..
The cheese at Jolie was from Stinky
Not sure why, but this made me LOL
“Anyone else know who does a good steak tartare in Brooklyn??? ”
Strong Place has oysters and steak tartare on their menu. Haven’t had the tartare but everything else I’ve had there was outstanding.
Anyway, Chicco from Saraghina is opening a seafood place around the corner from me (on target for June) and he’ll have raw oysters.

The cheese at Jolie was from Stinky and very good in the cheese course but Saraghina’s is better.
I only go for the steak tartare, the oysters and the cheese plate.
Although brunch is OK, I’d have to agree with the others about the cooked entrees at dinner. Xing is never really pleased if he doesn’t order the steak tartare.
Some smart chef looking for a cool space should take that old Jolie spot and turn it into something big and nice.
this is a nice room and good location. someone very close to me worked @ Porchetta and it was run into the ground by poor management. and the chef (who was later fired and arrested via Porchetta’s owner’s claims of theft) was a MAJOR jerk.
