The king and queen of hip-hop, Jay Z and Beyoncé, have been spotted twice at Bed Stuy bar Casablanca in the past month. Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s sister, Solange pops into popular Bed Stuy restaurant Saraghina for dinner as often as twice a week.

It’s been quite a month for celebrity doings in Brooklyn. Michelle Williams bought a grand mansion in the somewhat unlikely neighborhood of Prospect Park South. First Daughter Malia Obama has reportedly been interning on the set of “Girls,” and was spotted on the set at Williamsburg restaurant Aurora last week.
The entrance at Saraghina.
Well, personally I’m very happy you posted this because I live next to Saraghina and will be there morning noon and night until I see some Bey.
Again, what garbage. I guess Brownstoner is simply becoming a reflection of the new Brooklyn.
Vapid.
I go on Gothamist for the celebrity gossip….I come here to read real estate housey type stuff. This has been my favorite blog for 6 years+ but I really do not like the direction it is taking and the overall lack of content and all the sponsored ad posts. Lately I am looking more at Curbed, which I never liked as much, but they are posting a lot more relevant content. Still holding out hope that brownstoner will turn it around though…. come on guys! for me? Pretty please?
To compromise a little: This post is fine as a ‘opening/closing link” but not as an actual posted article. Just doesn’t fit with what I view as Brownstoner
Celebrity sightings is just the gentrification end game. You have to reap what you have sowed, commenters.
Thought I was on the wrong site for a second.
Would also like to state that this type of post is irritating. It takes a lot of effort to avoid the gross celebrity-worshipping culture we’re all constantly bombarded with—especially on the internet—so sites like Brownstoner are a much needed haven. Please stop this childish nonsense.
Hey all,
Thanks for all your speedy reactions, per usual. We were trying something in a new way, and clearly you feel it needs work. We will back to our regularly scheduled programming shortly.
CM 🙂
Even though I think Beyonce’s and Jay-Z’s music is trash/trashy/trashier, I appreciate this link. It’s about Brooklyn and showcases thriving businesses (and, I argue, beautiful architecture) in the area.
