781-Fulton-Street-Brooklyn-0813

It’s barely been a year since Hungry Ghost opened on Flatbush and 6th avenues in Park Slope. Business must be good because we’re hearing through the grapevine that the cafe and bar is prepping to open another location nearby at 781 Fulton Street in Fort Greene. The space has housed a tire repair shop that is one of the last links on this commercial strip to an earlier time in the neighborhood. It’s a pretty prime retail spot, which is why we’re hearing the new lease holders were willing to pony up a $7,000-a-month rent. On the other hand, it’s a bit of a strange call given the proximity to the Greene Grape mini-empire of shops just down the block. But maybe a hopping hood can never have too much coffee. GMAP

  1. Speaking of Provisions: anybody know when the new, larger space is set to open? I thought it was supposed to be this Fall, but it doesn’t look they make it even close to that date. I heard the delay was due to some DOB stuff.
