washington-park-1008.jpgBoth the Daily News and Newsday are reporting that human remains were found in a box on Washington Park last night. The medical examiner has not released details on gender, age or ethnicity yet. According to a tipster, the dog walkers in Fort Greene Park were “buzzing” about the news this morning. Bad news for this listing?

  1. Maybe it did have to do with the projects, maybe not.

What’s ridiculous was xander’s suggestion that because one lives in the general vicinity of a housing project, one has no right to complain or voice concern when something bad happens.

Lets overpay for a browstone next to the projects then bitch because their are dead people in boxes across the street from my house.

    —————–

It sounds like you will HAVE dead people living in your house. Stay your arse outta the neighborhood. We don’t need ya!

  3. It’s hardly a regular occurrance. This discovery made big news all over the city. If it were common it would not be news.

Don’t you feel silly explaining the obvious? I do.

  4. I agree with Stuymom, I think it’s kind of crass and insensitive. And as I pointed out many times when I lived in Park Slope, particularly after a murder in Prospect Park a few years back, we still live in the city and crime happens everywhere. Even in leafy green neighborhoods.

  5. Actually, that’s probably one of the dumbest quotes ever.
People cut up in boxes is a regular occurrance in the projects?

“Gosh I sure do love my 2.5 million dollar brownstone but I wish those crazy project kids would stop slicing people and putting them in boxes in front of my stoop. Oh well… no use in complaining… it’s just poor people acting like poor people!” (cue cheesy Mentos grin)
