Hopes for Cobble Hill Hooters Dashed

Talk about blog bait! Remember the storefront at 232 Court Street, which has sat empty after the neighborhood dry cleaners couldn’t pay the rising rent? Well, imagine our confusion when we saw a sign go up for Hooters soon after they revealed the newly constructed storefront. While the teenage boys passing by seemed pretty psyched for the prospect of a Hooter’s in their neighborhood, we hate to break it to them: “The guys working on the building were just joking around,” explains the owner. “I haven’t rented it yet.” Cobble Hill homeowners can now breathe a big sigh of relief. (Update: Pardon Me For Asking spoke with a worker on the site, who told her a real estate office is coming to the building. We think the owner may have been speaking of the additional space on Baltic Street to us.) GMAP
No kidding, Dave.
M4L – I’ve had them in Philly, Clearwater (original Hooters), and Baltimore – all the same crap – no flavor. I’m sure it’s good to tell the missus that you’re going there for the food.
Thanks Cobbblehiller, got my wires crossed! Fixing now.
JB, really? maybe it’s the stupid hooters here in NYC as all my hooter experiences are outside of NYC and the wings were mighty good – or was it really them waitresses distorting/distracting me from realizing the wings were crap.
I’m not really into hooters.
eh – total agreement – worst wings ever.
also the waitresses at the hooters in midtown manhattan are flat out busted looking, with small hooters to boot! but they were very nice.

i’ve had 3 of my birthdays and 2 of my 1/2 birthdays at Hooters in the past. very fun. at one of them i met an actual hooker and her john! i thought it was someone spying (long story) at our table but it turns out i was wrong about who it was. she then ate a ton of our food and didnt pay but invited us out to a party at some hotel. she said she could get us in, but when we got there she came back out and said she couldnt get us in. then the night got kinda blurry and a friend of mine wound up getting his wallet stolen! we think it was her.

Emily, The Oh’s (owners of Trusting Cleaners at 232 Court St.) lived on Smith Street. That’s where the fire was.

“After almost 25 years of running their Cobble Hill dry cleaners, Kyung Dong Oh and his wife Kyung Ja Oh closed the doors for good in March of last year.
The landlord wanted to hike the rent for Trusting Cleaners from $2,500 to $6,500 a month, and the Ohs couldn’t afford it.
