Domino Site E, now known as Havemeyer Park, opens to the public on Saturday! Two Trees decided to convert the 55,000-square-foot lot on Kent Avenue between South 3rd and South 4th streets into temporary community space until they begin developing the Domino Sugar Refinery next year. The site has been divided into an eastern and western portion. The eastern portion of the site has 11,000 square feet of grass in total, including a 3,000 square foot field set aside for kids. Programming for both children and adults will be announced throughout the summer. The eastern portion also includes a community farm operated by North Brooklyn Farms. They plan to open a farm stand on Saturday, as well as host pick-your-own harvests, workshops and farming lessons.

The western portion of the site, which borders Kent Avenue, is now the site of the Brooklyn Bike Park (pictured). The park is aimed at both beginner and advanced riders. It includes a multi-use trail for bikes, strollers and walkers, a skills area for off-road cycling, a basics pump track and an advanced pump track. Free bikes and helmets will be available for children and available for rent for adults. The track is operated by Ride Brooklyn, in partnership with the New York City Mountain Bike Association and Brooklyn Mountain Biking.
