Grocery Store for Greenwood Heights
A tipster sent us this photo and noted, “Looks like Greenwood Heights will be getting some kind of decent size organic store.” The commercial space below the the Bisney Condo, now a rental building, is getting leased to a place called ‘Earth’s Basket.’ Psyched?

Shh….don’t tell about Rossman’s. That place is SICK!!!! in an awesome old school New York, go shopping with my grandparents at the Brooklyn Terminal Market in the 70s kinda way.
“I join Denton in annexing all the shops I frequent into my own neighborhood. If they are within a few blocks of my house, I refuse to let the boundaries be written by people who live in Brownstones on streets named after dead oligarchs. :)”
Well said. Boundaries are nice to have ‘nabes, but hell, most of us will walk 10 blocks for decent food, booze, pharmacy, etc. if not more.
I know most of my friends in the area goto Steve’s C-Town on 9th St. over other local stores…however, Rossman’s on 26th/3rd Ave ROCKS!
The old school doesn’t quite get the feel of the neighborhood any longer. South Slope extends from 9th St to the freeway along 7th Ave and becomes Windsor Terrace somewhere between 8th Ave and PPW.
Greenwood Hts begins south of the freeway.

11217, I’m from the old school that says Park Slope ends at 9th Street 🙂
Snappy, the fish store on 7th closer to us is excellent! Been going there for years.
Denton,
I don’t really care, but it seems like you’ve done the reverse of what real estate agents do.
Thistle Hill Tavern, Fonda and Union Market are in Park Slope as they are north of 15th Street. I guess South Slope, but Park Slope is most certainly till 15th Street. After that, call it what you like.
Calling 14th and 7th Avenue Greenwood Heights is awfully ballsy though. 🙂
p.s. I can’t get enough of Lot 2.
A good pharmacy would be nice, but at the moment, I’m without insurance and Target’s $4 prescriptions are saving me a BUNDLE.
Denton, never saw them. I’ll have to try it out. I usually stay off 7th Ave, but if there’s good fish there, I’ll suck it up and head east.
Don’t forget: Quarter Bar, 718 Bar, Toby’s & South. My friends in Sunset Park come over to GreenWood on the weekends for the nightlife.
I wouldn’t mind a decent pharmacy/drug store though.
