The small storefront at 920 Fulton Street, which came on the market last spring, was finally snapped in the middle of the summer. We noticed work starting on the former hair braiding spot in August but had no idea who the tenant once until we got a tip over the weekend with what sounds like good news to us. The new tenant is something called the Brooklyn Victory Garden, which is, according to its Facebook page, an “urban general store offering local grocery and goods that support the local economy.” As of a few weeks ago, they were predicting an October opening. Bring it on!
*rob* — you’re also just showing your usual ignorance. From the description, this place will be nothing like a bodega.
exciting – a perfect addition for the walk home from the C train – especially if they have decent produce.
sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays!!
“The only other option is the Met, which is clearly the worst grocery store in the area (rotten meat, anyone?). It will be nice to have another choice nearby. ”
This is why I’m only interested in prices. There really should be an affordable and reliable option in this area. The market can definitely support a place that provides fresh local produce at an affordable price. It’s really needed.
Yeah, really Rob. There are a number of bodegas on this stretch but like most bodegas there are no vegetables for sale. Maybe you go to some kind of fancier bodega.

Geez, Rob. A couple of well-meaning folks are trying to make a nice neighborhood shop offering food supplies that aren’t currently available on this strip and your first reaction is to shoot them down? Ridiculous, but not unpredictable.
Ah….frownstoner attack. The place isn’t even open yet. Virtually nothing is known about it and yet….

I wonder what the prices will look like. If they’re too high it will be an occasional stop for even the better of residents around there.
