We almost wish a certain someone was still around to discuss this one…There’ve been rumors swirling about what’s going on behind the papered windows in the two adjoining retail spaces on Grand Avenue between Putnam Avenue and Fulton Street in Clinton Hill. The minutes of a recent Community Board 2 subcommittee meeting provides more details. The two spaces are being combined to create a single 34-seat bar currently referred to as Fulton Grand Bar with a full on-premise liquor license; there will also be a “limited menu” of food (and no dancing). As of last month, the owners were shooting to open some time in May. This could either be really good or really bad for what is already a volatile corner. GMAP

  1. Wasder, I am with you 100% and really wish that this place is successful and is part of the positive development on the block/area. If we don’t get a whole Brownstoner event there, I would love to have a drink to celebrate it with you and any other Brownstoner who would like to go. I really want this whole area near Fulton stretching down further West (and East) to get some good energy.

I sort of dropped out of Brownstoner for a while so missed all of the rantings of the What, but thought “he” was really abusive. I think “he” is colorful and interesting and intelligent, but really mean. So bye.

  2. “our social committee is pretty good about that though.”

Yes, wasder — Biff, CGar and Snaps are great about letting people know when we decide to descend upon them en masse!

  3. oh, duh, just read the thread, and saw brownstoner party already in the works for opening day. but maybe we should tell owner, instead of ambushing owner. If its late may, i’ll be there finally!!!
