Living in Prospect Heights? [Brooklynian]
loser, i still can’t believe no one has stepped in to rescue admirals row. it is like a sinister plot to erase every bit of history in the dumbo/vinegar hill area.a few years ago i was comtemplating living in dumbo. i’m glad i changed my mind….the area has lost all its appeal and resembles rego park more than a historic, waterfront neighborhood.
but you’d better get down to the row quick because they’re paving it over to put up a car lot and a supermarket.
Admirals Row is located on Flushing Ave at the Southwestern corner of the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Gonna blog the Greenpoint story on Monday…
Forgive my ignorance, but where is Admiral’s Row located?
surprised you didn’t link to this item about Greenpoint Terminal- Joshua Guttman story (from therealdeal.net)–>
Greenpoint developer faces charges
February 1, 4:50 pm
Plans for the site are on hold, but the latest iteration included five condo towers. Joshua Guttman and his partners, who are developing the Brooklyn waterfront parcel that used to be occupied by the historic Greenpoint Terminal, are facing 434 criminal charges by the Brooklyn District Attorney for not curing deficiencies cited on their terminal docks in 2006. The charges, which each carry possible fines of $5,000, are related to citations that predate the massive, 10-alarm fire at the Greenpoint site in June 2006. Guttman is scheduled for a Feb. 16 pre-trial court date for the alleged violations. more By Jen Benepe
