Speaking of buses, I love the new countdown app/mobile site for the B63. I think that the MTA should consider charging $1 to download the app once the data is available systemwide — that would probably raise a nice $500K or more.
As I don’t ride a bike, I have no real opinion on bike racks. I could see how that would be a nice feature if the weather turns for the worse while someone was out biking.
This article didn’t make the Friday links?

I can see all sorts of new and interesting bike-related flame wars starting.
In LA, all the buses had bike racks, and it did not seem to slow them down too much.
At many bus stops there is a line of people waiting to pay anyway. Since the time it takes to secure or remove a bike is about the same as 2 people paying their fare, the time cost is pretty low.
So yes, this will slow buses down but by an amount that is low compared with already existing delays.
I don’t really care since I don’t bike and only take the bus every other week or so.
My wife takes a bus both ways almost every day.

Frankly I couldn’t give a damn because I don’t take buses and never will. They are too damn slow. But, you can’t tell me that this won’t slow them down further.
Either ride your bike or ride the bus.
As I’ve said before, if you don’t like specific practices that Walmart does, pass laws against them that apply to all retailers/employees in the city.
Then wait 5 seconds for every small business in the city to burn you at the stake for putting them out of business.
Good to see FIOS is finally coming to Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and Boerum Hill.
GM Gentlemen. Is it time to go home yet?
