What’s good too is that with rents dropping hopefully it will allow the creative classes to keep coming to NYC.

totally agree with that statement.
while i really do not consider myself an artist, i made something cool this weekend for my wall. i was walking and saw an old school super large plasma (or rear projection tv) i ripped out the screen and then put a picture someone printed out for me in the background and nailed it to my wall. it takes up like 1/4 of the wall and looks like a giant movie screen that is on pause with a blurry picture in the back.
if you walk around there’s tons of stuff on the street to use in art work. just be careful about bedbugs i guess.
