Norah Jones' Swimming Pool Should Be Ready by Summer
Now that the brouhaha over her windows is dying down (the seven new windows are installed and by all accounts they look just fine), it’s time for the next stage of Norah Jones’ townhouse renovation: the backyard swimming pool. Now that the brouhaha over her windows is dying down (the seven new windows are installed and by all accounts they look just fine), it’s time for the next stage of Norah Jones’ townhouse renovation: the backyard swimming pool. Back in January, a New York Post article had a brief reference to the fact that the famous singer was planning to build a pool, but provided no details; DOB filings also confirm that a pool is in the works, as does this pool installation truck parked on her block. Now we’ve got some color on the situation, courtesy of a tipster: If the intelligence is correct, and it sounds like it comes from a good source, we’re talking about a 8-by-30-foot in-ground pool with a hydraulic system that enables the pool to be covered and used as a terrace at the push of a button. This could be the start of a trend!
Funny, I thought that house was pretty perfect when it was sold. guess there’s always something better.
We had an in-ground 40′ by 20′ pool in our backyard when I was a kid. We got rid of it when I was in college. Pools rock!
Who wouldn’t be jealous of tons of light and a backyard pool! In Cobble Hill! Dang, I have to figure out how to be her pal.
My garden’s divided in thirds: a third patio, a third plantings (enough to keep me busy but not too onerous) & a third pool. If hers is only 8′ wide, there’s plenty of space for gardening depending on what kind of deck she puts in.
Jealous, Mr B? You just can’t get enough of her.
This all seems a bit vouyeristic. Hey, whatever.
“Beat” works just as well, DeLepp!!!
i for one hope she isnt a scrooge about it, and at least hosts a couple of open pool parties this summer!!! otherwise, what’s the point of having it?!
*rob*
meant “best” not “beat”.
Personally, I’d rather have a plantable garden than a retractable deck, and dig out a lap pool in the cellar instead. Jussayin. That said, now that I know it’s there, I won’t hesitate to hop the fence and take a late night swim.
