Why do you provide daily links to the AY report? Very few people care and even fewer respect OCD Oder enough to sift through his boring, poorly-written columns. Link to something more relevant and interesting.

Yes, as predicted in the article. FASB bows down to Barney Frank and Big Banks (from mark-to-market to mark-to-fantasy) to hide massive RE losses from the public but sticks its chest out to the little people (small businsesses) on leases. I almost feel for people paying prevailing prices for RE today near the top of the market but that’s another matter.

But yeah, having to recognize leases on balance sheets = shorter term leases = more volatility in the rental market? Probably will affect the commercial rental market more than residential, no?
Accounting for leases was always confusing as hell for me in school.
