Hello all;
Biff, I will gladly come to the gathering as FSRG. I like FSRG’s posts alot. I recently suggested to Mr. B. that he start a new feature, akin to Walkabout with Montrose, called “Kicking Ass with FSRG”.
Rob, hope everything works out OK. If you are looking for a good GP, I heartily recommend Dr.Raffinan, whose office is at 35 8th Ave.
This was a great weekend for me, for two activities:
-I tended bar at a fundraiser in my old neighnorhood of Gravesend. It was a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament. Given that we did not have a liquor license, I won’t say the organization for which this was done. What was great about it was that a bunch of Iraqi war veterans showed up at the tournament, and I really enjoyed speaking with some of them (they all knew each other – one vet is a member of this organization and he brought his buddies).
-On Sunday I took my mother-in-law out to Gargiulio’s in Coney Island for her 80th birthday. God I love that place. My vision of heaven is unlimited baked clams from Gargiulio’s. I must have eaten a whole loaf of Italian bread in the process of sopping up every last drop of the baked clam broth. My mouth is watering just writing about it.
Yep, made a very nice Fettucine Al Freddo with sauteed chicken last night. I think I’ll do a Spinach Souffle tonight. Otherwise, not that much cooking this weekend. Had some work to do for the Non-profit over the past several and upcoming days, along with working for my friends again.
Are you still cooking up a storm over there? Keeping busy is good. I’ve started disinfecting my house…washed the bathroom and kitchen walls the last two days. Today is the living room’s turn.
Very glad to hear it! Must be a relief after all that.
I’m a little burned out at the moment, but have a long list of stuff I have to do these next few days.
