Here’s an update from the Brooklyn Public Library in the wake of the hurricane: three impacted branches – McKinley, Jamaica Bay and Flatlands – have reopened, while four branches remain closed due to damage – Coney Island, Gerritsen Beach, Sheepshead Bay and Brighton Beach. The Red Hook branch is now serving as a warming center from 10 am to 5 pm, with food and warm drinks available. The BPL also dispatched bookmobiles to Red Hook and Coney Island, with charging stations and free books and activities for children. Finally, you can drop off storm relief supplies for Red Hook and Coney Island to 15 different branches, including Central Library on Eastern Parkway. Check out the full list of branches and items to donate right here.
