Denis Hamill gets his working-class panties in a bunch today in a rambling column aimed at Park Slope gentrifiers, a group that he claims is attracted to Brooklyn because it’s “a great place to displace working people, for nannies to raise your kids and to rant against Atlantic Yards.” We know it’s the end of the year and you’re probably running low on ideas, Denis, but, come on. It’s hard to think of a more tired, unoriginal topic or stereotype. Sounds like a little vacation is in order to recharge the old batteries.

  1. “It’s hard to think of a more tired, unoriginal topic or stereotype”

Don’t get me wrong, I am a loyal and hooked bstoner, but don’t you think this is the pot calling the kettle a little black here? You guys rehash the same dead topics every fukin week!! (strollers, fedders, bahn mi, noise complaints, bike lanes, boiler probs…)

  2. also i dont want to keep being a thorn in anyone’s side in this thread, but im sure you went to school way before anything got really bad in any neighborhoods, regardless of color. that does make a huge difference.

btw, this stuff fascinates me. i think that’s why i came back to this thread again before giving myself a haircut and watching a rerun of gossip girl
