Closing Bell: Michelle Dines in Brooklyn
As we tweeted earlier, the First Lady had lunch at the world-famous Front Street pizza spot Grimaldi’s today. Not surprisingly, traffic to the area was restricted for a while. No word on what kind of pie she ordered though.

thread hijack! Sallys and Pepes in New Haven are pretty freaking good, but Bar actually has the best pizza in town, with less of a wait. I still have dreams about the bacon and mashed potato pizza (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it, it’s not just a novelty topping) with a pitcher of Bar Blonde.
So true about New Haven. My god that pizza is good. Almost as good as Italy.
The two most famous places are Sally’s and um either Pepe’s or Apizz, I forget. I went to Sally’s. Waited in line for two hours. Ordered one large pizza. Then ordered two more. Ate it all. (With one other person.)
How lame. She had to go to the most touristy pizza joint in all of New York??
Mystic pizza?
you got it duck! new haven pizza is awesome. i forget the place i went to but it was worth the wait.
the best pizza is in NEW HAVEN, CT!! “authentic” nyc pizza just tastes like sbarro and you can get it in any mall in the country.
the best NY pizza is in CT
Pizza in NY is the same as pizza in NJ. There are more bad pizza places in NYC than there are Chins in a Chinese phone directory.
everyone in the city-data chicago forums who moves to chicago said their pizza is way overrated.. ive never had it, but it looks good.. then again i dont see what’s so special about nyc pizza. it tastes exactly the same as the pizza i had in any pizzarias in jersey.
