The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership is trying to make sure everyone knows it: The group is planning to commission a huge mural at the entrance to the busy station in tribute to the Scorcese-directed vid. “The art could be the size of a huge mural and possibly rely on lights and projection at nighttime,” DBP president Joe Chan told The Post.
Jacko Art on Tracko for Subway [NY Post]
I heard that Queens if going one-up brooklyn, and is renaming an entire neighborhood to Michael Jackson Heights.
“i know for a fact if this stop was named michael jackson stop, id find it easier if / when i ever had to”
RAOTFLMMFAO! I’m sorry, *rob*, but I suspect you’d STILL ask for diretions!!

well i guess Montrose answered one of those questions above
I’ve always been curious about subway stations with unused tracks. I think the Bowery stop on the JMZ also has this. What were they used for, and is there anyway they can be used again to improve service?
I remember when they were filming this, too. As others have mentioned, it was the quintessential subway filming stop, as the unused tracks, that used to take people to and from the Aqueduct Racetrack, are isolated enough for a film set, yet still very “real”.
What was badder in those days than the NYC subways? Most Americans back then would rather enter a bear cage.
Cool.
Many, many films have been shot in Hoyt-Schermerhorn because it has the two extra, currently unused platforms. I won’t judge this plan, but a certain black-and-white, Asian bear comes to mind.
