This weekend offers a few opportunities to dress up and parade around your respective pup. On Saturday, October 27th, there will be a Dog Costume Party and Contest at McCarren Park. There will be raffle prizes, a costume contest, and local pet businesses set up around the park. Proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the McCarren Dog Run. Check out all the info here. Then this Sunday it’s the 10th Annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Parade and Contest on the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade. Those interested should register at Perfect Paws, 102 Hicks Street, by Saturday, Oct. 27. All of the event proceeds will be split among three different animal charities, although it is free to just watch the parade. It’ll begin at the Remsen Street entrance of the promenade at 12:45 pm and will end at the circular north end of the promenade. Local and celebrity judges will be on hand to pick their favorite dog costumes in many different categories. Afterward, an after party and silent auction will be held at the Vinegar Hill Vet in Dumbo at 4pm. The only admission to the after-party is $10 in raffle tickets. Check out pictures of the doggy costumes from last year at Brooklyn Heights Blog.
