Here’s something of a novelty: Potentially dangerous stuff falling off a building that doesn’t seem related to shoddy or unsafe conditions at a construction site. A small part of the façade of a building on 5th Avenue near Carroll Street crumbled last night (see photo on jump), leaving a big pile of rubble on the sidewalk. According to some bystanders who were on the scene this morning, the collapse happened at around 2 a.m., and no one was injured. In the meantime, cops have taped off the sidewalk around the debris and told us they’re waiting for the DOB to inspect the building and decide whether it needs to be vacated. GMAP
WTF WHO PAYS 400 DOLLARS ON SHOES!!!!!
I live in a completely different world than this person.
wow, big spender 11:18 #2.
where does one find shoes for 10 dollars anyway?
they must be puuuurty.
i got new heels on my stompin’ boots today, 11:18.
repairing my shoes would cost more than the shoe itself.
so it gets the trash.
only yuppies and idiots get their shoes repaired.
I also use shoe repair all the time.
You are extremely wasteful if you throw your shoes away instead of replacing them with a 10 dollar new sole.
Most civilized people do go to show repair shops. They are on every block in Europe.
If I’m spending 300 or 400 on shoes, I want to take care of them.
8:43: Seriously? You never get your shoes fixed? I know I use those places all the time. Why not replace a heel rather than chucking your shoes? On the other hand, I do not have any wagon wheels.
I think the name speaks forr itself. It was just a social club for men and women.
11:03 No specific knowledge of that club, however, check out some of the still existing social clubs and combine that with a historical demographic of what south brooklyn was and an idea may come to mind about the possibilities.
The AY comments used to be funny, but they’re getting pretty old now.
