We wrote about the closing of the Blue Marble flagship store in late August, and said they would be closing up in a few weeks. When passing by yesterday, we saw employees organizing and packing up what looked to be what’s left of the store. What a bummer. The ‘For Rent’ sign, though, at $3,500 a month is still there.
They wouldn’t pay 3500 and said landlord hiked rent, so old rent was in the 2k neighborhood. I gotta say, they could have paid that. But then they got the Brooklyn Bridge Park concession and maybe decided to move along? That’s cool — I just wouldn’t have blamed the landlord for a reasonable ask
Want to make someone jealous? Walk out of one of their stores sipping a root beer float on a hot day.

Sniff. When we were in there the other night they told me they were staying open until the end of October. Maybe this chilly weather has them packing it in early? Sniff.
