Brownstoner Garden Day 2
Here’s how far our garden contractors got yesterday. It’s looking like we may have to keep the iron posts in on the lot line–they are proving to be impossible to remove. The contractors say they can build a wood post around each one. Previously: Removing the Chain Link [Brownstoner]

This is redicolous, the beauty of having a gaden is to do gardening and fix it and enjoy, why get a contractor for it especially when he sounds like a scam when he says that he can’t remove those poles, sure you will find many people in the neighborhood that need some money and could get those things out of your garden in a beat! this is such of shame A CONCRACTOR FOR YOUR GARDEN, com’on DYS this is Brooklyn.
Our contractors did present all the above options, but because the poles are so secure, it seemed a fine solution to keep them there anyway…
Anon2:
Which Home Depot outside of the city has the bluestone?
FYI, if you’re still looking for bluestone, I was at a Home Depot today (outside the city) and they had a few pallets of “Pennsylvania Flagstone” (but a tag in the pallet read “Pennsylvania Bluestone”). HD is selling it by the piece: 18″x12″ rectangles are $4.97; 18″x18″ squares, $7.97.
Hey, quit giving him friggin ideas! I said I can’t do it and I’m not gonna! Do I come over and tell you to type twice as hard on your friggin computer?
That’s really lame that your contractor can’t remove the posts. Where did you get this guy from?
How is that a number of people on this post know how to remove those poles, but the contractor does not? I’m not trying to incite a riot here, but that seems fairly run of the mill
Yeah- I just got rid of poles like those- just dig down a foot or so and saw away. Easy as pie, really.
sorry to hijack, but at least it’s relavant to backyards! Anyone have a clue where i could find an ‘old school’ bird bath and bench? I’d love to have a rickety old bench, be it wood or metal, and a funny old birdbath. But I don’t want to spend dough on ‘antiques’ or ‘new retro’.
Are there any flea markets or second had stores, etc. that may have these kind of items?
