Bilingual Brooklyn: Crowdfunded Spanish Play Comes to the Bushwick Starr This Month

Come out for a night of bilingual theater at the Bushwick Starr this week, as Teatrica Theater Company, in collaboration with Brooklyn Gypsies, performs Yoleros, a tale of immigration in the style of traditional Latino theater.

A collaboration by a group of playwrights and directors, Yoleros will be performed in Spanish with English subtitles at 8 p.m. December 17-19 at the Bushwick Starr. Teatrica Theater Company expects to attract an audience of both Spanish and English speakers.

The play has already received acclaim, winning the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast.

Yoleros also has a large amount of community support, proven by its successful Indiegogo campaign, raising more than its $3,000 goal to help with production.

Tickets are $15 and available online.
