Make Your Library Trips a Little More Magical With a 'Where the Wild Things Are' Library Card
The Brooklyn Public Library is making an effort to make your trip to the stacks just a little more magical.

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ has been enchanting young readers for more than 50 years, but did you know that the classic children’s book has Brooklyn roots?
Author Maurice Sendak was a Brooklyn native, and in honor of the book and the author, Brooklyn Public Library will issue a set of ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ library cards.

Students at P.S. 118, the Maurice Sendak Community School, will receive the first set of specially issued cards at a reading of the famous book, alongside an appearance from the Wild Rumpus, on Tuesday March 28.
The special cards will also be available to the general public while supplies last (if the patrons want to turn in their normal blue cards). They will be the default card given to children.

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ will be part of the Brooklyn Public Library’s Storytime program on Saturday, April 1. The Saturday programs encourage young readers and include readings and craft projects.
