A month ago the Brooklyn Farmacy, which had been having some troubles transforming from the Vermont Pharmacy, got a big push in the form of a makeover from the Discovery Channel as part of one its renovation shows. The old-fashioned soda fountain is now open for business. Lost City reported yesterday that the shop is now open. It’s celebrating strawberry season too! GMAP
Maybe I just got it wrong. Still cheaper than the other places on Court.
The shakes are now $5.25. They raised their prices already I guess.
Oh, and his prices aren’t bad. I think it was $4.75 for a shake which is definitely less than (the overpriced) Sweet Melissa or Chocolate Room.
Go! Try it again. I had a damn decent egg cream the other day and the ice cream concoctions look great. (Don’t judge a place BEFORE they even open!)
Hey Biff,
Do you know this “guy” from Toronto?

Four out of five Americans think that’s how pharmacy is really spelled.
An observation: I went in there a couple weeks ago while they were finishing up the last bit of pre-opening stuff. My impression was not a good one. I was ignored by the owners, and it didn’t look like there really was all that much great stuff for sale…the usual RIck’s Picks, and other standard jarred stuff. Really not that much going on other than egg creams.
Maybe I just popped in on a bad day…but would love to know if others have had better experiences.
Scooped again, brownstoner!
