We’re in the 14th week of sheltering in place and the 58th day of home schooling for New York City schools.

Protests took place all over Brooklyn this past weekend, including a rally and march for black trans lives that attracted thousands to meet in front of the Brooklyn Museum Sunday. Friday evening a group of about 100 gathered in Saratoga Park and marched toward Bushwick, police cars trailing behind them. Organizers exhorted the crowd to write their city council rep urging them to divert $1 billion of the police budget to social programs and to vote in the June 23 election.

A huge “Black Lives Matter” mural was painted in yellow on Fulton Street in front of Restoration Plaza Saturday, as locals shot photos and video of the event.

“This is utterly different from anything we’ve seen,” sociologist Douglas McAdam told The New York Times, referring to the mix of races at the protests in New York City and beyond.
