Movie experiences were hard to come by in 2020 but as things open up in the city, more annual traditions are returning, including Movies with a View. The outdoor film series in Brooklyn Bridge Park will come back for a limited run in August.
The four featured movies were chosen with the theme of “grit” in mind as a nod to the challenging year. The movies include “Shaun of the Dead” on August 5, “Patti Cake$” on August 12, “Akeelah and the Bee” on August 19 and “Karate Kid” on August 26. For those who want to dine while watching, Smorgasburg will be selling food and drink along the Pier 1 promenade.
The movies are free and the evenings kick off at 6 p.m. with music. Movies start at sundown, roughly 8:30 p.m. For all the details, including up-to-date information on Covid-19 protocols for distancing and mask wearing, visit the event page online.
