Paul Haye, the owner of Christie’s Jamaican Patties, recently lost the lease for his shop, which was located on the northwest corner of Sterling Place and Flatbush Avenue for 40 years. His move (one block south and across the street from his old location) is one of many changes for North Flatbush Avenue, where Park Slope Sports Club became Crunch Fitness, the Flatbush Pavilion movie theater reopened as American Apparel, and the 99-cent store, Plaza Discount Deals, is preparing to close up shop. “Obviously, the neighborhood will survive,” says Haye. “It will just be a less interesting place.”

The discount store and the old Christie’s space will be used by Crunch fitness.
Anyone know what’s going to move into the former Christie’s space (and the discount store next door that’s also closing down)?
The new Christie’s is so much nicer than the old one. A great addition to an ever-improving (albeit far too slowly) stretch of Flatbush Ave.
