We know quite a few meat-lovers who take their burgers very seriously. We’ve even encountered a secret society that meets for regular burger-tastings and gives each burger a cow-rating — as in “The bun is perfect, the toppings are great, but I wanted it really rare, and it’s not quite as bloody as I like. Thus, I give it 2 cows.” They wouldn’t share their rating for the DuMont burger, pictured above, but we’ve heard great things about it. Could DuMont be a contender for the best burger in Brooklyn? Is the Luger burger better?

And just so all the vegetarians out there don’t feel left out, feel free to nominate the home of the best Brooklyn veggie burger, too. (We have yet to find a restaurant serving a veggie burger that holds a candle to the one we make at home.)

  1. Have to disagree about Cafe Lafayette. I think they make terrible burgers but great paninis.

Thumbs down too on Burger 67.

Choice’s burger is okay; the best I’ve had in FG/CH is at Maggie Brown.
