Will the bagel spot at 645 Vanderbilt Avenue ever open? It’s been playing games with our heart for more than a year. Back then it was the Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shop, then it changed to Prospect Bagels, and now the name’s returned to the original. Since signage is up on the windows and a paint job is happening, we’re assuming the store will be opening soon. This is an offshoot of popular Middle Eastern joint Zaytoons, up the block.

I think the new shop looks great. I also cant blame them for taking forever to open. Amorina across the street took at least 7 months to open after they first started working.
Now if somebody could put a sushi shop in one of the 2 other corners of vanderbilt and prospect I would be a very happy man.
Im also really glad to see that someone removed the construction debris that was left in the tree pits out side of this bagel shop. Many a night I came home drunk and was tempted to just roll the giant rocks into the street myself.
^ haha. Yes, fresh bagels ftw
I’m not sure I want to buy Olde Bagels, knowwhatImean?
I pretty much never bash new places, but it’s hard not to make fun of this name. They definitely should have added the “Ye” and gone all the way. And why only half (quarter) spell Brooklyn the olde Dutche way?
Zday Tooned for future developments.
Guess branding is important, but its a bagel, I like it looking old, worn and authentic. This seems contrived, like it’ll be $5 organic bagels.
Next it will be Ye Olde Breukelen Bagele Shoppe.
I’ve changed my mind, Babel Bagels is better.
Is this Twitter?
If I opened a bagel shop in NYC I’d call it Babel’s Bagels
